She's dealt with blackouts, seizures, blinding headaches, heat intolerance -- for years now. Lyme has turned the vibrant young woman that I once knew into a helpless victim. This past week Candice attended a Convention in Italy and while there spoke about Caroline and possible love interests. Below is an excerpt thanks to Wetpaint … also watch the videos below.

The stars of The Vampire Diaries headed to Europe this past weekend (May 31-June 2), where they were on hand for the Love & Blood Convention in Perugia, Italy.

While castmates like Nina Dobrev and Paul Wesley stayed back in the States, Ian Somerhalder (Damon), Candice Accola (Caroline), Zach Roerig (Matt), Torrey DeVitto (Meredith), and Nathaniel Buzolic (Kol) all hopped across the pond for some fan Q&A.

Fresh off her engagement to Fray guitarist Joe King, Candice Accola took the stage looking as radiant as ever! Though the 26-year-old actress has found true love in her real life, it seems she thinks her character needs to play the field.

“Honestly, I think Caroline should be single,” she explained to the crowd. Not surprisingly, that answer didn’t go over so well!

“Fine. Then I guess we won’t have any hot new young guys come on the show for you guys. We’ll just keep the ones we have,” she joked.

Unfortunately, Candice seems pretty certain that Klaus and Caroline’s relationship won’t make it to the next level. “I read a lot of fan-fiction thrusts of Caroline and Klaus, but there will only be the fan-fiction… even if she loves him.”

Aww, Candice! You’re breaking our Klaroline-loving hearts!

Candice is Engaged!!!!

Candice has shared that she and Joey King are now engaged! So happy for her! ABC did an article highlighting the engagement! To see images that Candice & Joey shared from their engagement go here.

Congratulations are in order for “Vampire Diaries” star Candice Accola and her beau, The Fray guitarist Joe King.

The happy couple announced their engagement via Twitter, posting romantic sun-drenched photos, along with “Cheers from the future Mr & Mrs. Joseph Aaron King.”

Accola, 26, simply labeled one picture of the two of them laughing, “Happy.”

In another photo King, 33, posted, Accola can be seen proudly showing off her vintage-style engagement ring with what appears to be a large diamond in the middle.

The rock star captioned the photo, “I’m a lucky man.”

Accola’s “Vampire Diaries” co-star Nina Dobrev couldn’t contain her excitement over the announcement.

“DYING RIGHT NOW! SO excited/thrilled/happy/hyperventilating over ur engagement! #matchmadeinheaven I mean.. #matchmadebynina,” the 24-year-old Bulgarian actress wrote.

Later she added, “What colors are we thinking for the bridesmaids dresses? Because yellow isn’t a good color on me.. :P haha”
